With a mixture of intervalic melodic lines all vying for their turn in the spot light and big band style shout choruses, The Last word! is as the title suggests, a jazz argument with different groups within the ensemble passing or stealing lines from each other while a baritone groove underpins the whole thing. This piece requires attention to detail to get the most out of it.
